Brian Quijada signature music-making style is Live-looping. He was introduced to foot pedal looping technology in the summer of 2009. Since the advent of iOS software that allows looping technology on iPhones and iPads, Brian has mastered digital looping, its fusion with multi-instrumentalism (one-man-band-style looping), and translating this art form to the stage.
Brian has been commissioned by The Kennedy Center, Woolly Mammoth, and Oregon Shakespeare to compose a new 7-person live-looped musical called UNDESIRABLES with playwright Hansol Jung.
Brian is collaborating with Sara Porkalob on an A.R.T. commission to develop the third installment of her Dragon Cycle entitled DRAGON BABY.
He is also currently in development for a two-person live-looped Hip Hop Musical about the Underground Railroad that led south of the border called MEXODUS, with co-creator Nygel D. Robinson.
Brian live-loops his one man show WHERE DID WE SIT ON THE BUS? and is the Looper in the Hip Hop duo THE FANTASTIC BOOM along with Idris Goodwin.
